Miniature Painter EU Regulations

I am a miniature painter and sell hand-painted tabletop miniatures on eBay, typically as collectible items or for gaming purposes. With the introduction of the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), I’m concerned about compliance when selling to EU customers.

I currently use eBay’s Global Shipping Program (GSP) for international sales, and I’m hoping this might simplify things. However, I need clarity on a few points:

  1. Are my painted miniatures considered “works of art” or collectible items under EU regulations, and does this mean they’re excluded from the GPSR?
  2. If I sell custom commissions (painted miniatures) and ship them via GSP, does eBay handle all the compliance for EU regulations, or are there any additional steps I need to take?
  3. Are there any specific restrictions, fees, or processes I should be aware of when using GSP for hand-painted items?
  4. Does anyone here have experience selling painted miniatures or other handcrafted items to the EU through GSP, and how has it worked out?

I want to ensure my business remains viable for EU customers without incurring excessive costs for compliance. Any advice, experiences, or guidance from the community would be greatly appreciated!

You might get better advice from the business seller boards here on Ebay or from a community of similar businesses.

Only mentors can answer here in 'member to member' and I am not certain (although I may be wrong!) that we have the expertise and knowledge to respond to your questions.
