I brought a couple of torch bulbs that are advertised to fir a Maglite torch - there is even a photo of a Maglite torch to prove it - when they arrived that are nothing like a Maglite bulb, the head is too big for the holding collar and the base is too small for the holder.
I contacted ebay and reported these facts, but they decided there was nothing to worry about and seemed happy to let this seller continue to con their sellers and closed the report.
I contested this decision and once again their AI has decided that selling goods that are not fit for purpose is not any of ebays concern and closed it again.
There are a plethora of these bulbs listed on various sellers lists, all from China.
ebay states that it offers its buyers protection, which is just a plain lie if they are not removing goods that are unfit for purpose.
I have reported the seller and ebay to the UK's Trading Standards, with a list of "conversation" with ebay, several listing who are also selling this bulb and the actual bulbs that I purchased.
In the photo, you can see the difference, the original Maglite bulb is on the right, the Chinese counterfeit on the left, the round thing is the collar that holds the bulb in and the counterfeit one is too big to fit it, you can see the difference in the bottom half, that fits into the holder
It is sad that we have to take such actions in order to try and protect other buyers, while paying ebay to do the same service, as long as the seller is paying, that is as far as ebays concern goes - Shame on them

if you open an eBay not as described case and follow it through you will get a refund.

Like so many users, you don't understand that eBay is not like the shops.
You read (?) and accepted eBay's warning in the user agreement that that they do not check listings, and do not guarantee the quality of items sold here, that descriptions will be truthful or accurate or that items for sale will be safe, legal - or even exist.
Would you have bought from a shop that stated this? You were warned of the risks of buying from unknown sellers here. eBay is a jungle.

I didn't have a "not as described" option

So all of ebays "you have our protection" is just pure bull*bleep* ?
If the shop was informed that an item that they were selling was not fit for purpose, I would think that they would stop selling it or run the risk of losing customers.
ebay don't have that issue as they don't give a toss about their buyers, only the sellers as they pay the money.
I posted here to warn others, so that they don't get scammed like I did, which was I thought the purpose of this board, to help people, not to make excuses for ebay
so ebay is now notified that they are selling items that breach advertising standards, by UK law those listing should be taken down
Trading Standards can now take care of it, I have sent them copies of my emails and photos that I have sent ebay

You will have something similar such as received wrong item or doesn't match description etc choose one of those

You simply open an eBay return and select any one of the following reasons;
Item is defective
Doesn't match description or photos
Received wrong item
The seller then has to issue you with a pre-paid returns label (at their expense) or, after 3 business days you'll be able to ask eBay to step in.
You can then leave appropriate feedback which the seller won't be able to apply to have removed.
