Item being sold twice

I purchased a painting on eBay from a well known charity at the beginning of the month and confirmed payment was received. The item is showing as to be posted 3 weeks after payment and te delivery date keeps extending. A few days ago I checked to see if the item had been posted and under similar items the same picture is being sold again under auction. I have messaged the seller but still awaiting response and the auction ends soon. Should I bid for it and deal with the seller if I win the auction or as eBay to step in. I gather that if someone else wins the bid it is very difficult to recover the picture and feel if I want to receive the picture I will need to win the auction. Any advice or guidance will be much appreciated

You need to open an 'item not received' case before you run out of time.

If you really want the item, bid on it again but the only way to make sure you don't pay for the same item twice is to open a case.

The estimated delivery date you should go by is the one on the email you received from Ebay when you paid.

Thank you for the advice. I will look to see if I win the auction. I did message the seller on Thursday and raised the issue. If they don’t contact me by next Wednesday to resolve the non delivery I will escalate to eBay for refund.

Make sure you are still within the 30 days allowed - that is 30 days from the original latest estimated delivery date as stated in the email from Ebay when you purchased.
