I can't see a £40 bid if it was the wine rack.
Where are you seeing that?

As I understand they put it in earlier, what do recommend I have now list out on the highest bidder this can't be correct?

We cannot see that the bid was placed earlier, the buyer is sending you a picture of what they have received from eBay, informing them they have not won the item, no doubt then eBay is supplying them with similar items being sold now by other sellers.

Winner put in several bids and it still didn't match their max amount.
So under bidder won't have won at £40 anyway.

that shows the winning 'bid' as £41.04.

The item sold for £41.04, but that included the buyer protection fee. Once that was deducted, you got £38.77.
The buyer with the max bid of £40 was £1.04 below the winning bid.
