I received an email 'Your eBay data report is ready' which I did not request

Hi all

I received an email 'Your eBay data report is ready' which I did not request. Within the email body it has a link to report the email if it wasn't me that requested it. It looks official, is directed to me by name, but when I go to messages on eBay to find it and look on the download request logs there is nothing.

I have gone on the customer service page to find a way to report it, but all I can find is how to deal with issues with selling, buying etc.

Sorry if I'm just being dumb, but I would really appreciate it if someone could direct me to the appropriate place to report it to save me going around in circles.

Many thanks

Update: I've found it, thanks!

Suspicious email

  1. Don't click any links in the email or open any attachments.
  2. Forward the message to us as an attachment at spoof@ebay.co.uk.

We'll let you know that we received the email.

Use 'help & contact' top left of your Ebay page.  I just put 'spoof email' as the search term to get details and the link.

Just to clarify does the message appear in your eBay inbox or is it an external mail you have received with this? When you say it addressed you correctly was this by your username or your Christian name?

if only received externally and not addressed to you correctly could indicate spam phishing message, which when clicking the link may end up you having to perhaps being asked to pay for something to see said report.
