I bought an item in October last year and it stopped working after about 3 months

I bought an item in October last year and it stopped working around end of Feb this year. I contacted the seller on the 13th of March and explained this and had no response, and again on the 17 and 18th of March with no response. Ebay seem not to cover this due to the time frame being too long however this item should last at least a year.

Please can someone explain how I can get my money back when the seller will not respond and Ebay isnt interested? thanks

eBay will not be interested because their guarantee of a refund falls out of the 30 days, you need to claim,  under their 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy.

You cannot report this to eBay as they do not offer warranties or guarantees on items, just that they are just as described on receipt.  If they are not,  a buyer has 30 days under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy,  to return the item for a full refund.

If you bought this from a Private seller you are too late to claim a refund.  Try your payment provider you may just be in time to claim from them.

If purchased from a registered UK business, who offered a guarantee and is now not upholding this,  then turn to Citizens Advice for your next steps,  if you wish to take this further.
