Having searched this forum I'm in despair. I used to do a lot of eBay selling and it was quite "simple" to select Evri or Yodel who take parcels up to 120cms at a low rate especially if less than 5 or 2kg.
I've been pretty inactive for a year or so and just selling a few small or medium sized parcel within the Royal Mail size guidelines so took the new system on board relatively easily. But I'm really lost now!
It seems the only option I have for parcels up to 120cms is "large bulky" DHL costing 12 quid!
Can I opt out of "Simple Delivery" and just post with Evri like I used to? I can't seem to find any way of doing this.
Or could I just set Simple Delivery to the cheapest large letter rate and then purchase an Evri label (from Evri) and then enter the tracking number on eBay like I used to do many years ago?
I've looked at a few posts on here from earlier in the year and it looks to have been a big problem with a convoluted solution. Has it been resolved?
I can't help thinking I must be missing something simple here as I can't be alone.
Thanks in advance.

You are supposed to use DHL. If it's bigger than that you can opt out - see the advice on here:
https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Seller-Central/How-do-you-list-anything-bigger-than-61cm-Part-two/m-...
Otherwise if you use Seller pays > Free delivery on your listings you can change tracking and apply to get a refund of the unused Simple Delivery label as long as the postage you use has tracking.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have looked through that thread, and tried to understand it. Noted that even after 62 posts it seems flakey. I tried the first couple of steps and got:
“Invalid request - please correct and try again”
I see golden_syrup in post #62 says "That worked for about 5 seconds until I tried to revise the item".
I'll have another go in the morning. Hannah Peel on Radio 3 is calling to soothe my nerves.

The advice in that post was written to assist sellers in getting a broken ebay system to work, I.e when there was no simple delivery courier for items of that size but the system wouldn't recognise that.
Since then ebay has contracted with DHL so the 'opt out' advice is no longer applicable, and may not work in your circumstances.
If you don't want to use DHL you have to go down the special delivery, free postage, refund route, but the refunds are proving elusive so you may well be stuck with the cost of that label and the replacement.

Many thanks papso22.
So if I go for "Seller pays and free delivery" and select the "large item" option with simple delivery it looks as though cost is around £12 with DHL. But if I actually post with Evri or Yodel it will cost me aprox £5. But then I have to claim back the £12 which might be tricky and time consuming. And if it fails it has cost me £17?
So methinks if I select "Large Letter" option eBay will only charge me £2.94. (but I post as before with Evri or Yodel for £5). So if not recovered it's not a disaster, and postage will have cost me total £7.94.....still much less than £12, and considerably less than £17. And of course I have to enter the Evri tracking info, just like old times.
Is this a feasible tactic or will it incur the wrath of Mr eBay?
