Fairywill sonic toothbrush

I bought the toothbrush on 6 June 2025 - brand new.  After working properly for four months, it stopped working, although the lights still came on when the button was pressed, but no motor and no brushing.  The seller didn't want to know as their 30 day refund window had expired, and they referred me to the manufacturer.  Ebay won't get involved as their 90 day window had expired.  I've heard nothing from Fairywill itself.  I accept it only cost £11.99, but shouldn't a brand new rechargeable toothbrush last longer than four months?  What about Consumer Rights Act 2015?

eBay's money back Guarantee/Buyer Protection is 30 days, not 90.

As regards that act, did you buy from a UK registered business trader?

Thanks for your swift message.  The seller was UK registered.  The only reason I referred to Ebay and 90 days was because they told me (automatically - not a real person!) that they weren't interested as I bought the item more than 90 days ago.  I think the 30 days relates to the Buyer Protection system in case something doesn't arrive or arrives broken.  I thought we all had consumer rights if buying from a UK trader, as opposed to a private seller, particularly on a brand new item (ie not refurbished or second hand).

Yes, you do have consumer rights if buying from UK business.

But, ebay won't get involved with them, it is between you and seller.

Ebay 30 day MBG is in addition to consumer rights.
