Evri have damaged my sold EBay Simple Delivery item irreparably. How do I get compensation?
Evri tracking says it’s damaged beyond repair and has been disposed of. When we saw this the seller and I decided to give him an immediate refund. However i think he should have raised an ‘item not received’ dispute first, as I can no longer use the chatbot to get compensation for this.
It’s tracked through eBay though and eBay can see it was destroyed so I’m not sure why they can’t do anything.
Evri’s own pointless chat bot just says to reach out to the seller. I am the seller though.
How can I resolve this? It’s posted through EBay Simple Delivery so I’m assuming eBay have to get compensation through Evri.
It’s only £20 but would be nice to get compensated for the item being destroyed tbh.
Thanks.

When Simple Delivery is used and a buyer claims non delivery or that the item was damaged on delivery, the buyer opens an ebay case either for not received, or damaged on receipt, and ebay refunds the buyer with no involvement with the seller. You have to remember to state in the case that SD was used.
I'm not sure what you can do now you've voluntarily refunded. Try speaking to CS in the morning, here is the link: eBay Customer Service

Thanks for the CS link.
They are going to ‘try’ to put it through as a courtesy refund.
basically don’t issue a refund before a dispute has gone in.
Thanks for the help.
