Ebay collection point refused delivery

I ordered an item and selected for it to be collected from an eBay collection point. I called eBay customer service ahead of confirming with the seller and they assured me that as long as the eCP reference was on the address label it would be delivered to the collection point and I could collect the item from there. The item was due to be delivered yesterday, but the tracking details say Evri have been asked to return the item to the seller, even though neither the seller or I asked for the item to be returned to the seller. The tracking history shows the delivery was attempted and even has a photograph of the inside of the store where the eBay collection point is, so I can definitely see that Evri attempted to deliver the item, but I don't understand why the item is being returned to the seller. I have no way of tracking that the item has been sent back to the seller, I am just sitting around waiting for eBay and Evri to give me some answers and I am worried I'll end up paying twice for expensive delivery to have it redelivered to another address. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks

Does the package conform to size and weight allowed? That is the only reason I can think of for the package being refused, and that is assuming you did add the code.

Ebay collection point refused delivery

Subsequent to this post, I went to the ebay collection point to find out what happened. They refused the parcel because they are no longer an ebay collection point apparently. I don't know whether they have told ebay that though, the guy was pretty rude and argumentative and since he had confirmed he refused the parcel I didn't see the point in arguing any more.

I'm now stuck in a situation where the item has been returned to the seller and someone is going to have to pay for the item to be resent - it shouldn't be me, its not my fault the ebay collection point refused the parcel. It shouldn't be the seller, its not their fault either. So now i am stuck and ebay customer service has been unhelpful so far with options that don't cause me or the seller to be out of pocket.
