Ebay Postage Labels Not Used. Will I be refunded?

Due to the new system of easy postage I have accidentally purchased multiple labels that I have not used. Will I be automatically refunded for these?

If you are using Simple Delivery, you don't actually pay for the label.

The buyer pays Ebay and they send you an email so you can print the label.

How have you purchased multiple labels?

Do you mean you have printed the label off more than once?

So as it stands on my listings I have it as I pay for postage on my items and now that ebay doesn't show you the full address, you have to go on purchase label to see the full address.  I have been charged for multiple Evri postage labels that i have not used as i always send my stuff via royal mail, so these Evri labels have and will not be used.

You listed as freepost, so you pay postage.

If buyer wants to upgrade to express delivery as per listing, they pay for it and you get link to print label.

But what has happened is Ive been charged for a label I did not want in the first place and now have had to pay for an Evri one which was deducted automatically that I havn't used and then again for Royal Mail for the actual postage I wanted to use. Surely I should be refunded as I read that ebay doesn't actually take money until the label is actually scanned by a courier? But in my payments tab I have been charged for multiple labels on my listings that are unused

Re: Ebay Postage Labels Not Used. Will I be refunded?

If you bought them through Ebay and have paid for them from your account, you should be able to get your money back.

It can take a few days.

How to cancel a postage label

Labels purchased on the eBay labels platform need to be used within 14 calendar days. If unused, make sure to void the label within 14 calendar days to get a refund.

Here's how to void a postage label in My eBay or Seller Hub:

  1. Select Selling in My eBay, or select Orders on the Seller Hub Overview page.
  2. Select Postage Labels on the left-hand side.
  3. Select Actions next to the label you'd like to void, and select Void Label.

Re: Ebay Postage Labels Not Used. Will I be refunded?

**Update**

So turns out I have not actually paid for labels, ebay has just automatically deducted money from my sale for a label that again, I did not ask for and would prefer that I would be in charge of organising my own postage methods.  Because I have arranged different postage methods with different tracking and couriers, surely ebay should refund me. I can't be the only person who feels it  is unfair for ebay to just deduct my profits for their labels that I never asked for.

Re: Ebay Postage Labels Not Used. Will I be refunded?

Over the next few days, Ebay are changing every item listed in the UK to Simple Delivery.

So, Ebay will override your postage option, collect and keep the postage payment from the buyer and provide you with a label to print and use.

The money doesn't come from your sale.  If your item is priced at £25 (plus buyer's fee) and the postage is £3.71  (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Jay Figure Sealed), the buyer will pay £30.43 and Ebay will pay you £25.

You must them print the label Ebay provides.  If you pay your own postage, you will not get the money back as the buyer has paid Ebay.  They keep that money and issue a label.

I think you need to read how Simple Delivery works.  Use the help search box.

@jckl1957   Just for my own ' education' here, we're all learning ,  your last line.....   You must them print the label Ebay provides.  If you pay your own postage, you will not get the money back as the buyer has paid Ebay.  They keep that money and issue a label..

If a seller selects their own label after buyer buys and pays for the label  thru the SD system, yes the seller has to pay the cost,  but do eBay then refund the buyer for the unused label?

That I don't know.

The buyer won't think to ask for a refund on the postage because they will have received their item.

It's all a bit 'wait and see' at the moment!

Re: Ebay Postage Labels Not Used. Will I be refunded?

@jckl1957   I seem to remember reading that it is automatically refunded to the buyer if not used,  they won't need to ask.

Happy to be corrected here.

Can we please have confirmation on the refund situ here,  thanks 😊
