Confused how labels work...

Hi.

So I use the 'custom postage' option rather than 'simple delivery', due to the postage delivery costing less - Yodel is cheaper than Royal Mail, so I'd rather choose that cheaper option so buyers aren't paying more, partially because why charge them more, but also so items have a better chance of selling if postage is slightly cheaper.

The other day, I believe I was charged twice for a label, but now I'm not 100% sure. I mention this because I've just made another sale and purchased the label, recieving a barcode and the label, and the charge comes out of my ebay funds.

HOWEVER, when I was potentially charged twice the last time, it was because the guy at the drop off point scanned the barcode I'd recieved, as I showed it to him asking what it was for, as I didn't know what to do with it. Earlier that day, I had printed the label off myself via my local library, thinking that was what I was suppose to do, so I'd already placed a label on the package reading to send out, then a secondary label was printed once the barcode was scanned merely for an enquiry.

So... back to the present, I've just purchased a label and gotten a barcode.... what do I do now? If I show the drop off person the barcode to print out a label, will I be charged again? I've already purchased the label through ebay, hence, why I recieve the barcode in the first place.

I'm finding this really confusing, and don't want to be charged again. However, if I were to print it off myself, I'd have to take a bus into town and back (I don't drive), so it would still cost less than travelling out.

Hope someone can help? Thanks!

Confused how labels work...

Hi @nancy4464 ,

Thank you for your post.

When you purchase the label on eBay you are given the label to print and also a QR code. If you can't print the label yourself  the QR code is used so the label can be printed at the post office/drop off location. There is no second charge for this even if the same label is printed twice.

Hope this helps

Thank you,

Kat

I am currently out of the office and will return on the 3rd of June. Please expect a delay in my reply
