Click and collect store rejected the parcel

Hi, so I made a purchase recently and chose click and collect and then a click and collect store that was fairly close by. This store however rejected the parcel. All I saw on the tracking was 'item unable to be delivered' then 'out for delivery' and finally 3 days later 'return to sender requested '

So, upon seeing the 'return requested' I went to the shop and they said that it was because it was Evri and that "they don't do Evri". Ive been in communication with the seller alot and he said he printed the eBay label, so it definitely had the ecp code in the address.

The trouble now is, that the seller has had an issue with eBay not changing his address and so the parcel has been 'returned' to the wrong address!

We have both tried to contact Evri but had no luck and the click and collect store, of course, are refusing to admit that they made an error.

So, who's fault is it? I think it's primarily the click and collect store for not recognising that while the courier may have been Evri, the parcel was still click and collect and so should be accepted no matter who delivers it.

My 2nd question is, what the hell do I do about it? I guess I won't be getting the item I bought, but it would be nice if Evri were instructed to retrieve the parcel and get it to it's original recipient or the actual sender. How am I meant to get this action carried out?

Thanks

You can't instruct evri to do anything.  Has the seller refunded you?  If not you can open a case for item not received.

You could also report the store to ebay.

Click and collect store rejected the parcel

Hi, thanks for your reply. I've not got a refund yet but the seller says eBay haven't given him my payment yet. I've looked at the tracking and it says that there is a 'query open on this parcel' so I'm hoping that Evri are making attempts to retrieve the parcel. I'll probably give it until the beginning of next week before I open a case for a refund as tbh I think I'd prefer the item I bought.

Are you able to tell me how I report the store to eBay?  Thanks

Better to open item not received case now.

You have 30 days to escalate to ebay.

Ebay only deal with refunds, not item being resent.

I doubt ebay will worry about store refusing item.

It may be that seller didn't put ECP code on parcel.

Click and collect store rejected the parcel

Well the seller told me that he printed the label so the ecp would have been on it. He has however gone quiet now and is no longer replying to messages, which makes me a bit suss. Usually I always make cases with PayPal but given the complexities and also the 'ebay buyer protection ' I'm wandering if eBay is the best bet this time? Thoughts?

Always open ebay case.

If it fails, you can open PayPal case.

But can't do it other way round.
