Buying stolen goods

I had my bike stolen and it had been registered as stolen on the bike register. 

I found the stolen item for sale on eBay and purchased it, but I have not been able to get a refund. It is confirmed as my bike, with the same serial number of my stolen bike and I have receipts for all of the components. 

eBay have been impossible to deal with and keep telling me to resolve this with the seller, that is a theif, so will bviously not help me. 

The police have been notified but are extremely slow to respond.

Ebay will only act if Police contact them.

If you paid for bike at least you got it back,

Not best way to sort.

Surely police should be dealing with this.

There is no policy for ebay to get you a refund in these circumstances.
