Buying an item from japan.

Hello, just wondering has anyone bought any video games or similar items from Japan. Was there any hidden costs.

depending on the total value you might have to pay VAT and, or import duty.

check HMRC website for the charges.

As an importer, you are expected to be aware that you will  have to pay Taxes, which are nothing to do with seller.

As with any other purchase you pay selling price plus postage as quoted by seller, so there are no hidden costs, unless prices are quoted in Japanese Currency when exchange rates will add to cost.
