Buyers Cancelling High Value Orders

Has anyone else experienced this? I have sold five high value items (mobile phones, watches) in the last month or so. Twice the buyer has not paid. Three times the buyer has asked to cancel almost as soon as the auction is over. It feels far too coincidental to be bad luck on my part. It feels like they are trying to 'block' the sale of mine, perhaps to ensure their items sell. I have emailed ebay. It feels like all the protections are now in favour of buyers with very little in favour of sellers. Perhaps a bidder should have to make payment when they bid to prove they can buy it, with the money held by ebay until the auction is over.

Buyers Cancelling High Value Orders

“Twice the buyer has not paid.” Did you give unpaid strikes? Have you blocked bidders? Have you blocked any members with two or more unpaid strikes?

On the information you give you have only wasted time and lost sales, no money.

Use BINs with immediate payment required, but it would not stop buyers immediately asking to cancel, and cause you to waste more time in refunding.
