Buyer postage problem after delivery confirmed and funds released

Hi , so im new to selling and I am a private seller. Sold an item nearly a month ago and the buyer picked royal mail 2nd class. I selected the parcel size before printing the shipping label and presumed all was fine.

I contacted the buyer to see if she had received it as I noticed the tracking had not updated. She told me she had an item waiting at the post office due to insufficient postage.

She messages me today saying she's paid the extra 1.50 , but its recorded as delivered and ebay have released the funds. The item was sold on 14th april.

Do I have to do anything? Confusing as she picked the postage method! Thanks

It is you as the seller to get the postage correct. It is not the buyers fault if you offer options, but have the cost wrong.

You should refund the buyer the £1.50, as it was your error.

I would point out that if buyer had opened a  NOT RECEIVED CASE, you would be more than £1.50 out of pocket, and as delivery was late, buyer could open a NOT AS DESCRIBED case, even now, and that would be even more expensive for you.

That's the thing though , eBay put the price on there, and I couldn't change it as it said that's what the buyer had picked and paid? All part of this simple delivery option?

To be honest for the 5 quid I made the whole thing was not worth the hassle , its a reminder to just put these things on vinted rather than the hassle of selling here.

Thanks for your reply though , appreciated!
