Buyer mistakes size, am i liable

My buyer has contacted me to say the boots arrived in good condition but do not fit. She says a size 42 should be a UK 9. It isn’t correct,  a 42 is a size 7.5. I think this is buyers fault. Where do i stand here. I tried automated help but got nowhere.   Can she insist on a return and do I have to pay. If it was me as the buyer I would just relist them.

If the buyer opens a return case and uses 'wong size/does not fit', you can refuse the return.

I always thought a 42 was a UK size 8  but not a 9 , as the buyer suggests.  Perhaps  send them a polite message to explain this , maybe a screenshot of say a Clarks shoes size chart?

End of the day,  you have a No Returns,  so you do not have to accept it for the reason ' Does not Fit'.

If you do accept it , you can of course,  and to be honest sometimes it's best to, then just make sure the buyer knows they have to pay for that fully tracked return postage,  and you only refund them,  on receipt of your item.
