I have a few small value items for sale and today they are all now too expensive for buyers.
There is NO MENTION on the listing page of why the prices shown in not the price asked.
Just so that eBay can say in their TV adverts ... "Ohhh... look at us now... It is free to sell on eBay"
and compete with Market place and Vinted..
Its not NOT FREE TO BUY (from private sellers)
This has killed off all cheap items (£5 or less i would say)
Quietly introduced .... in with no real information .. especially to the buyers -- It is really DISGUSTING.
I now have to lower the prices to compensate for this STEALTH FEE.
So, it is NOT FREE TO SELL ..
LIARS
eBay was built on private sellers - and NOW WE ARE GETTING SHAFTED in a very DECEITFUL manner.
I've been an eBay member since 1999 and never been so angry to be honest !
PRIVATE - NORMAL PEOPLE - SELLERS NOT WELCOME HERE
.. or you can come but we will take a fee for anything you list ...
FREE TO SELL... UTTER LIES

I think that says it all really.
So now when you lower your prices you are going to get much the same as you got when you paid fees. As you say you are not a business, whatever you get for your old unwanted items should be a bonus.

The fact that you are in Global Shipping makes things worse, for example -
ball point pen BIN £4.49 plus Global charges [to Eire] of £18.54.

If you upgrade to business seller account, there is no fee for buyers.

Did you lower your prices when ebay removed selling fees for private selling accounts or did you decide that ebay had just put some more money in your pocket?

You are selling some multiples of new items.
So ebay and HMRC may not agree you are not a business

I do wonder how much difference it will make. Certainly lower price articles will be affected but [and I use eBay now mainly to buy] if I want something I will still buy it [for the convenience as much as anything] even though it costs me a bit more.
I do not claim to fully understand it but in the old days when everyone paid when selling a £100 article would have fee of £13 odd which the seller paid out of the price leaving him £87. Now the buyer will pay £105 odd of which the seller pays eBay £5 leaving the seller £100.
The seller could surely reduce the price somewhat to get the same outcome? [At that thought I fall about laughing perhaps?] @retro-boy
