Anything but Simple Delivery

Hello, I'm being forced to use Simple Delivery like everyone else.  I previously took my items to the post office - paid for delivery (which the buyer had paid for) and it was sent. I had a tracking number which I entered and it was tracked until delivery. I would call this simple. Now... I am forced to do what exactly? It involves me having to use only one delivery option. I take items to the Post Office and have to show them a QR code for them to print out a label?  I don't have a smart phone. Is there any other option I can use? If I used the free postage option (adding it to the item price) I'd still need to have a QR code. Is this correct? It is also indicating that I could post my item in a Post box. How would that work. I'd need a label wouldn't I? Apologies for my ignorance but it looks at the moment it looks to me that my 17 years selling on ebay are over.

Anything but Simple Delivery

It was announced on April 15th that Simple Delivery was to become mandatory for all Private Sellers.  It's been a very,  very slow roll out,  some being transferred immediately, some only now finding their listings all automatically changed from Custom to SD postage,  some with errors,  so worth checking your listings when this happens.

A Community manager has said that you do not have to have a smartphone but any other device, iPad / camera will suffice to take a picture of this QR code to take to your Post Office for your items.

Many are not happy, just take a look at some of the long threads on the Discussion forum, but SD is here to stay,  there's no going back.

Looking at your sales, over the last 90 days, you have sold over 100 items - that shows a successful Ebay seller.

You do have to use Simple Delivery if you want to keep selling on Ebay.

You would need to get a smartphone or a cheap printer - you can get a reliable HP deskjet from John Lewis or elsewhere for about £40.  Have you got any younger relatives who regularly update their phones etc?  Could you source a smartphone from someone who is upgrading?  If you are a hobby seller, you may have to invest in your hobby and adapt a little to keep using Ebay.
