I’m trying to sell an old mobile phone, I’ve noted that my seller is located in Australia (I am based in the UK) and has only joined eBay today. Should I be concerned? Thanks

Do you mean buyer is in Australia?
What on earth are they buying a phone from in the UK? It will work over there but I'd imagine it would be expensive !
Have they paid?
I would send them a message ask them do they realise the duty they would pay for the phone plus any extra costs of using a UK phone in their country. Explain you're happy to cancel the order if they do not wish to proceed which will fully refund them. You then select ' Problem with Buyer's Address' so that it doesn't impact your seller performance.
Should you wish to sell your items only within the UK then you need to show this in your Site Preferences on your homepage here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/prf
On the left sidebar select Postage Preferences, scroll down to Exclude Postage locations and select the countries there you do and do not wish to post to. There is a little box at the bottom of that list to add this to any item listed , with no bids.
Be aware, if you are a new seller, or one returning after a long break, you may not be able to sell internationally straight away.

the one sold for c£400?
If your listing did not offer overseas postage they won't be able to pay, so you can cancel after 4 full days with - buyer did not pay.

To be honest while we all started at 0 feedback, it seems risky to send to a buyer in Australia. I suspect they will not pay but be wary of any fake messages saying payment has been made, always check what it says in your sold items section, as until it is in the SOLD PAID AWAITING DISPATCH section you have not been paid.
