Algorithms?

I listed 98 items. I sold 7 over three days. Since then 11  days ago, nothing. Very few views and watchers. Are eBay playing with the algorithm to keep me interested whilst drip feeding the idea of paying to get my listings boosted? If I don’t pay I get put to the back of the queue.

I’ve been in here since 2004 and it feels like they are playing a game. Going to experiment with Vinted and Facebook marketplace a bit now.

Ebay does not seem to realise that no sales  means they are not making any money out of you. No doubt they do not care about small sellers, but add them together and fees etc. paid must mount up.

Free listing is a big con. Unless you pay for promotions activity is very slow. I have edited to 5% as some of the suggested rates are up to 15%. Even my 5% when taken on price plus postage plus VAT works out at best part of 10%.

When selecting 5% ebay suggests that a higher rate is needed to get more views, so basically    views are determined by the fees paid,  so much for FREE listings.

Algorithms?

Yes as I thought. I suspect Vinted is the same although my wife has been selling successfully and consistently for a couple of years.

Going to try it.
