Just had an online chat with an ebay agent.
I asked why I had not received automatic feedback for something I had sold. The item was successfully delivered over 7 days ago.
At first the agent said that that "automatic feedback is not for every seller"
Then they changed it to.........
"I've checked the details I can see that there's no such features where seller gets an automated feedback for the item sold"
Then after some meaningless chat they made an excuse that there was a technical difficulty and ended the conversation.
So what's this all about?
Introducing automated positive feedback... April 2... - UK eBay Community
Am I missing something or have I been fobbed off?

The eBay announcement that you've linked to is correct, it's likely that the eBay CS agent you spoke with wasn't familiar with the policy as it's not applicable across all eBay sites.

So how do I get hold of an ebay agent that knows what they are doing and resolve the problem?
Can agents be contacted on here?

We can probably point you in the right direction.
What kind of issue is it?
If it's about not receiving automatic feedback there's no point contacting eBay again.

Hi thanks for taking an interest
After I was fobbed off I got an email from the agent and I replied to it and got this
Hello,
Thank you for your mail.
I no longer work in the UK Community, meaning this mailbox isn't monitored.
For all UK Community queries, please contact the Community team on: ukmoderation @ ebay.com
Kind regards,
Alan
Yet my agent was called Simran
Anyway, here's my query
I sold item 277193737699 and it was successfully delivered on 20/6/25
7 days have passed and I was expecting automated feedback but that hasn't happened.
It's a shame my buyer hasn't left me feedback as I think they have a great item at a great price but I'd rather automated feedback rather than none.

That's Alan, the old US based Community Manager who I believe has now left, no idea how you ended up contacting him! 😀
Honestly, I'd just wait a few more days and see if it appears.

I may be wrong here.
Buyers/sellers have 60 days to leave feedback, so why would you expect automatic feedback after 7 days?
29-06-2025 2:53 PM
I'll give it a bit longer👍

It's a new idea. See the link in the first post .
If a buyer leaves feedback after the 7 days it overrides the automated feedback

Still does not sense, as buyers have 30 days to open ebay case.
More like typical ebay drivel.
Feedback means nothing nowadays anyway.

If they open a case that overrides the automated feedback as well.
You're probably right, feedback doesn't mean a lot to many nowadays but personally I always give feedback to buyers and sellers. I think it's only polite.
I know in almost all cases as a buyer I'm covered, but to try and avoid disappointment I won't buy from someone whose feedback looks dodgy.
If a seller has loads of automated feedback and a couple of bad feedbacks at least it tells me that the seller has sold many items without problem.
Without automated feedback it could paint a different picture.

To receive the automated feedback (which in my opinion is a waste) you have to enter the tracking number of the item at dispatch etc. It then has to be delivered on time etc. You then should receive something like this:

I used Simple Delivery. The buyer paid on the 17/6/25 and received it 20/6/25
I can't see anything wrong!

Like a dog with a bone I contacted eBay again with the same issue.
Again the agent had no idea that automated feedback existed.
Unlike the previous agent who pretended there was a technical issue and cut me off, this agent at least held his hands up and said he was unaware, and asked me to hold on while he educated himself.
He came back and said he will escalate, I'm not confident that anything will happen but I thought I'd report back here to let people know that these eBay agents are poorly trained and in my opinion should not be dealing with the public.
Was I unlucky and got 2 on the trot or is this a general problem with eBay agents?
