selling vehicles on ebay

I'm in the brocess of listing my campervan on ebay motors. I am concerned about the process of payment works. Does the ebay managed payment system work for vehicles in the same way as other items?

I don't think that payment for motor vehicles can be made through eBay checkout, but you would be very unwise to allow  a buyer to pay you through eBay anyway.

Remember that there is no seller (or buyer) protection for motor vehicles. If you were to accept PayPal (you're not required to) there is an easy and well known scam by which the buyer could pay, fund the payment from a credit card and then engineer a chargeback (payment reversal). This scam has even been reported in the national press, but still eBay does nothing to warn sellers about it. By the time you knew it had happened the vehicle would probably be out of the country.

Cash on collection after inspection is the only payment that is safe for both sellers and buyers.

Expect buyers to be suspicious. Campervans seem to be the number one source of fraudulent adverts for motor vehicles!

unless things have changed vehicles cannot be sold via managed payments you have to use a classified ad.
