Hi,
Please can anyone advise me on needing to return an item ordered by mistake?
I immediately requested to cancel, but when seller answered 4 days later, they said it was too late to cancel.
They were rude and nasty when I said I would say this in review and accused me of extortion for asking for gratis postage as a good will gesture!
This will cost me > £8.00 and was wondering if I do a return via Ebay if it will cost me more? Once I press 'submit' to return how will I be able to cancel it if the p and p is more?
Thank you.
If it is the one you left a negative for, they are a business seller so must accept cancellations and returns.
You can open a return request in the Resolution Centre and the seller should provide a return label that you will pay for at the post office.
Check on the item listing where the item is located as this is where it should be returned to. Do not allow the seller to try to tell you it has to be returned to China.
Returns normally cost just over $3 but for something larger it would be up to the seller to send you a suitable label. You can always take it to the PO yourself and buy your own tracked postage.
Incidentally, if the measurements are wrong on the item, and this is the reason it doesn't fit you can open a not as described case instead of a straight return, citing the item is not as described - do not use Does not Fit. The seller will then have to aend you a label. It sounds like he was being rather obstructive in firstly refusing to cancel, and secondly leaving you a negative follow up in feedback - which you can ask ebay to remove.
