receiving an offer outside an auction

Hi,

What are you supposed to do when you receive an offer separately to an auction that you'd like to accept? I can no longer add a buy it now price. 

The offer has come from the current top bidder if that makes any difference.

You can't do anything. He should have made an offer before bidding started.

If for example the bidding is at £20, even if he offered £100 there is no way you can accept this without doing a deal outside ebay which could get you suspended. You would have to end the auction, pay a selling fee, and then relist especially for this one bidder at the offer price, who may then not buy.

To be honest any bidder should know better.
