Hi, sorry not sure where to go with this one. I sold an item which for me was of high value €450 and it sold to someone in China and so I shipped with tracking on the same day as payment the 17/05/2021. The buyer had difficulties with tracking so I had to go into detail on how to track their parcel and show her that the item is in Customs since the 04/06/2021 so on the 09/07/2021 I got a message from the buyer to say that the value of the item is more than 1000 yuan so she cannot collect it as a personal item. I replied and told her that if she had the item returned to me and it came back in the same condition as I sent it that I would give her a refund minus the shipping fees, which I thought was generous as I have done everything that I can. The buyer opened an item not received case on the 10/07/2021. I contacted ebay by phone and got though to a lady who told me that I needed to ask the buyer to return the item but it would be in my best interest to contact the Chinese customs and ask for the item to be returned back. I am truly lost here, my funds are frozen, the item isn’t returned. So what’s stopping the buyer getting a refund and then collecting the item? Haven’t i as a seller fulfilled all of my requirements and should it not be classed as delivered as the issue is between customs and the buyer? All messages are on the ebay messaging system and all my telephone calls are recorded so it’s all on record. Sorry if it sounds like a rant, this changes the way I view international shipping and my future on the ebay platform as I feel ebay isn’t there for me, so what am I paying fees for?
