after reading the add for a car, phoned the seller ans agreed a price payed the £100 deposit through bank transfer, when I went to collect the car it was not as his advert. Not so good as he had implied and it had been badly modified which he had not told me. Now refuses to repay my deposit?

you shouldn't have paid a deposit,
