I have an item on auction. buyer made a best off of £32 but this was autodeclined before 23 hrs up and same buyer then made a bid on site for £14.95.
why was offer closed ? seems you can make ahigh offer then put in a lower bid which cancels your higher offer. Am I right & how is this good business for either Ebay or me?
thanks
Once an item has a bid on it, the best offer option is removed. Or it wouldn't be fair on people bidding.
The same person who made that offer which you had told eBay (via your settings) to decline, may well have put the same figure in as his maximum bid - you won't know until someone else bids too.
The bid will only move to £32 if somone else has bid £30 (or whatever the increments are at that level).
If not it will stay at the starting price until someone else bids more.
You say the same person who made teh offer placed the bid, so if only one person is currently interested in it, they will get it for the starting price, irrespective of any offer they made - that won't ever reflect on the current auction price.
