I have attempted to buy an item 4 times now. Each time using 'but it now' I have paid using paypal. I have had an e.mail from Paypal each time telling me I have authorised a payment and giving me a transaction and order number. After a few minutes I get an e.mail from e.bay saying the payment was unsuccessful and to try again. The e.bay help is hopeless, the only thing I get from that is to try again. Any ideas?
There could be several reasons why your payment has not gone through:
The seller may be new and need to accept the payment or confirm their email address.
They may need to relink their eBay and PayPal accounts.
The seller may have not set up the listing correctly. If so the seller must correct the mistake. I am not sure the transaction will succeed now though. The seller may need to cancel the transaction, correct the mistake, and re-list for you to buy again.
The seller may have blocked you and not realised it. Sellers can block buyers for several reasons:

If you don’t meet the seller’s buyer requirements you would have been told which one, so you could correct it.
As a last resort, if you still cannot contact the seller and there is an option to cancel your payment in PayPal, do so and buy from another seller.
