Why am I being charged?

I being charged £4.49 in an invoice but I have not sold any items on ebay in nearly 10 years?

You should be able to click on the invoice and see what the charge is for.

You sold one item but the buyer did not pay according to feedback

Did you do the non payment dispute to get your fees back?.

If you did not then you pay the fees

It is too long ago to do anything now so you are stuck with them if that is the reason

For future reference you are not allowed to leave negative feedback for buyers even non payers

As @redwick1 says there is a simple system set up by eBay.  If you get a buyer who does not pay then after 2 days you open a "non payer" case or [more recently] a "cancel for non-payment" case.  You have a time limit to do so [30 days] and if you did not do so within that time that is - sadly - why eBay found against you.  If you had done so you would have got a fee credit and would not have been out of pocket [though disappointed, no daubt].   The syetem is there and all eBay members [buyers and sellers] need to understand them.  EBay does work to strict time limits   @topsea_71
