When checking on a recent purchase a large advert appeared enticing me to enter my details to win an iPhone. I foolishly entered the competition and "won" the prize. Next I had to enter my credit card details to pay for postage. Then another site appeared asking me to enter my delivey address and again my credit card details as final confimation. The next page "did not exist".
This appears to be a scam and when I complained to eBay they said the advertising was from Google and they were not responsible even though the advert was on eBay´s own web site with an eBay address. I genuinely thought that the advert was from eBay and as a result of my purchase.
Surely eBay is responsible for all advertising on their web site and users should not be subjected to scam sites which appear to be supported by eBay.
I have used eBay for many years with over 600 trasactions, but will not be using them again until I have confidence that I will not be tricked by 3rd party scammers supported by the host.
