When I list an Item with VAT do I put the net price for the item or do I add the VAT to the asking price please

you aren't showing as VAT registered so you can't add VAT

if you are VAT registered you need to update your account and add your VAT number

then you add the VAT to the asking price and put the VAT % in the box
