Un resolved negative feedback. Buyer has lied…….any ideas?

Buyer collected some equipment on Sunday. The buyer has left negative feedback which has caused me concern. I've tried to resolve the issue with the buyer and followed protocol but the eBay team believe his account of events against mine.
The buyer arrived, at speed I might add, ignored my greeting and started to make disparaging remarks about the items.  I stated clearly to the gentleman that I didn't want to continue with the transaction  and asked him to leave. He didn't and stated he just wanted to check the equipment over before taking it away......

Believing we may have gotten of to a bad start, I agreed to this. However, the buyer changed tack, this time employing a superior and condescending attitude towards me. I put up with it and stayed with the chap whilst he continued to lecture about his credentials and knowledge relating to the items.

I tried to remain helpful and friendly. As best I could. I've e tried to resolve the issue and taken responsibility for the my part in the exchange.
I'm not sure what my question is relating to the matter but would appreciate any shared experiences out there. Has anyone been asked to accept responsibility and lie in order to remedy a situation?
