Selling 2 items and combining postage

Customer sent me an offer for an item which I accepted. He also wanted another item but for me to combine postage which I agreed to.  Instead of him sending me another offer he placed a bid on the second item which has 5 days to run.  I have ended the listing.  Was this the right thing to do?

If you selected to sell to highest bidder when you ended it that's fine although that would be at their current bid rather than any agreed price.
