Seller protection when you’ve been scammed

Hi recently I sold my phone on eBay thinking it would be safe and easy to do the man lives in Ukraine so I sent this first class international shipping and have the receipts to prove and the reference number so that I knew the package would get there to then learn that a case had been opened and now closed within 2 days saying I've not proved that it's got there when I've checked on Royal Mail and it's updated me that it's been recived in Ukraine and signed for yet the buyer has now been rewarded and refunded which is out of order im deeply disappointed in the buissness and think that the way that it's been handled is appalling as I did not even receive and email to let me know that a case had been opened or closed. Honestly this situation has put me off ever using eBay again as I think it's been disgusting and disappointing. And I find that the customer service also been bad as yoh cannot speak to anyone over the phone
