Hi, I hope someone can help.
I was the winning bidder of an iphone and paid straight away via paypal, 5 minutes later the seller then cancelled the order. When I messaged him to ask why he cancelled the order he said that he sold it to someone else for a much better price and he was just posting it to the other person. It looked like he managed to cancel it on behalf of the buyer (myself) which seems strange. He has now messaged me to say I have to agree to the cancellation before I can get my refund but I haven't agreed to the cancellation as I never wanted to cancel it.
I have since given him bad feedback and reported him to eBay for being in breech of their policies. I also informed paypal but the payment had already gone through. I could not find out how to get eBay to step in as it just seems to loop me around from one information page to the next.
I don't want to agree to the cancellation yet as I fear the records will disappear and he gets away with it. Does anyone know how I can get eBay to step in? I want my money back but I also think the buyer should be charged the full selling fee to discourage him from doing this again.
If you do not agree the cancellation the seller will be stuck with the fees. All you do is to open a "non receipt" case when the item does not arrive. If you cannot do it in eBay [and I see no reason why not] then use Paypal
Phew! £750! If he cancelled properly through eBay the money should be on its way in any event. There is - if I recall - a slightly different method at eBay where for large amounts the process is overseen by humans! If the option on Sunday is not available then it may mean that they have done it; refunds are quick but not instant.
Indeed @karinperry2008
The item might arrive up to the latest date for delivery on the summary. Until then the option does not appear. Go to resolution centre then and open the case. Escalate after 3 full business days and you should get your refund
Leave simple feedback [-ve] such as "would not honour sale".
