Receiving scam / spam offers on items nearly every day

Hello,

I'm a relatively new seller, and unfortunately I've been receiving scam / spam offers on my items nearly every day, sometimes even multiple times a day, for the past few weeks.

It starts with a notification that I have received an offer on an item. Each time I'm offered the 'buy it right now' price, so there's absolutely no need to send an offer. The offer comes with the same old message of ' Hi I'm interested in this item, just a quick question, please send me a message on (mobile number) via whats app'.

I realise that this is someone breaking the eBay guidelines and potentially trying to access my WhatsApp / personal data. Therefore, every single time I decline the offer, and I've even blocked some of the usernames. However, they keep coming back on new items and with new usernames.

Is there any way to stop this?

Thanks

No way to stop, but at least you are aware of how systems work so do not fall for any of this nonsense.

You can only Block the IDs but as they are new each time, this achieves nothing. You can also block members with two or more unpaid strikes, but that is unlikely to help.

It is strange as I can not think why you are being targeted, from what I have seen you are not selling any items that attract the scammers.

If you have immediate payment required on your BINs there could be some logic inmaking offer as if you accepted they could then avoid paying and just mess up your sales. Could possibly be someone selling similar items messing you around.

You do not appear to be on Managed Payments yet, if not you will not be able to sell after 31st May as you will not be able to be paid.
