If you have had the item for longer than 30 days you cannot claim from eBay or Paypal, neither offer guarantees / warranties that items will be fit for purpose months down the line.
Only if you have bought this from a registered UK seller, who offered a guarantee and now not fulfilling this, can you take it to Trading Standards, and Citizens Advice if you wish to pursue this further.
You have no comeback for any refund if purchased from a Private seller after 30 days of use.
