New sign in activity on your eBAY account

On 27/01/2021 rec'd this message & changed my password as advised.Today 01 Feb 2021 same message same approximate location.why is this happening please.

Contact eBay Customer Services,  ask if they are sending these messages,  and what do you need to do to stop this happening.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see the options, Have Us Call you and Chat With Us, and an approximate waiting time, it's usually a few minutes.

 

Lines open today between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Assuming that the message is genuine, which it probably is, this is a security check when you log in on a connected device that you haven't used before, or from a different IP address. If you use a mobile, maybe it's sensitive to the location where you log in.

 

I suspect that it also monitors for unusual patterns of use. For example, yesterday I had a similar message from Amazon after I logged in and bought something from my usual connected device, but at 4:00 am.

 

If you did sign in at around the time stated in the message there's nothing to worry about.
