New payments

I don't like the new payment method when selling. It takes longer to receive your money and I'm uncomfortable sending items before the money has cleared my account. Which will make sending items slower

Which will also mean bad feedback and ratings by disgruntled buyers, and potentially account defects for missed dispatch times.

Like the new system or not, it will be madness if sellers delay dispatch times after eBay has confirmed that the buyer has paid. EBay must already be hemorrhaging sales to Amazon Prime with its next day deliveries. I can't see eBay tolerating delays. Is it just coincidence that eBay chose this time to entitle buyers to treat items which arrive even a day late as being not as described? They can now use eBay's money back guarantee to claim a full refund - with the seller also having to send a prepaid return label, or let the buyer keep both the item and the refund?

Like previous "rebellions", sellers will eventually just have to accept the conditions that eBay heaps upon them. It's the way eBay went about it that's so annoying. In practice, all it means is that sellers need to organise themselves to have the funds to post items without waiting for the buyer's payment. Which is as it should be - who would wants to rely on a seller who is so hand to mouth that they don't even have the money to post items?
