Hello
One of my listings was removed by eBay today. I received an email today mentioning that one of my listing has been removed due to counterfeit rules. This item I listed is a 100% genuine item with a full paperwork and original receipt. The email says not to relist the item as my account may be blocked or suspended.
What are my options ?
Thanks in advance.
What are my options ?
Forget about relisting it. In the past, eBay faced a massive legal action for failing to act on the sale of counterfeits. They now have a VERO system (see bottom of page) under which the registered rights owners of brand names can report items they believe to be counterfeit for removal.
Mistakes are sometimes made, but eBay isn't going to argue with the rights owners. They would rather just get rid of small sellers who are repeatedly reported. If you are reported again it will put your account at risk.
So will advertising that you will reduce the price for cash payment or bank transfer, which is not allowed and would leave the buyer without the protection of eBay's money back guarantee.
If you continue to sell expensive new designer items you will need to register as a business seller. As a private seller, it looks very suspicious that you are using stock, manufacturers' pictures. Private sellers selling their own, unwanted possessions (which is all they're allowed to sell) normally show photos of the actual item they're selling.
You're not seriously going to sell items for thousands of pounds and post them by the ordinary 1st or 2nd class post?
To be honest, it's hardly surprising that your listings are being viewed with suspicion.
