Expect to see an angry email from eBay, because you are an habitual bid retractor.

eBay consider bids to be binding, you are not allowed to retract them unless you ask the seller first and they agree or you put the incorrect amount in, in which case you have to retract and then bid again with the correct amount.

What you're doing is tantamount to auction wrecking, if I was one of those seller's I'd have reported you.

It isn't 1 bid, you retracted 78 in last 12 months,

that is a lot, no wonder seller is unhappy with you,if all these sellers reported you ebay would have suspended your account,

if you don't intend to buy DON'T BID!

@mia2529

You really need tp make yourself aware of eBay policies

Bidding is a binding contreact not a game.......if you bid then you are expected to allow the auction to run & if the winning bidder then pay

You cannot simply bid then change your mind

You have 78 retractions in only 12 months.....and only feedback for 112 items......that looks very bad to eBay

As pointed out there are VERY FEW valid reasons for retacting a bid........I cannot imagine that all 78 of yours met these reasons

You accidentally enter a wrong bid amount (for example, you bid £99.50 instead of £9.95). If this occurs, re-enter the correct bid amount immediately

The description of an item you have bid on has changed significantly.

You cannot reach the seller. This means that you have tried calling the seller and the seller's phone number doesn't work, or you have tried emailing the seller and it comes back undeliverable

If reported to eBay it is VERY LIKELYthat ypu will face being banned from the site for life !!!

Bidding is a serious matter......DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO BUY

DO NOT BID ON THE SAME ITEM WITH MULTIPLE SELLERS & THEN THINK YOU CAN RETRACT IF YOU WIN ONE OF THEM

I very much suspect that anyone reading this thread will have banned you from ever buying from them

that's because with 76 retractions on your account you are looked upon as an auction wrecker - if the seller contacts eBay you might face sanctions.

any seller seeing your record will block you.

Whilst I accept your problems it would be wise to read and accept all the other posters' advice.

Every bid retraction is noted by eBay. It does not really matter that no one else has complained. EBay has it logged.  Most members might have retracted on perhaps one occasion for one of the valid reasons.  EBay may - ultimately - get round to barring you from buying.

I find eBay incredibly useful [as you may too] in that anything I want can be delivered to my door within days without having to trek round shops.

Please, please if you want to keep this useful service bid only on things that you actually want to buy and can pay for at the price you bid.

With 78 bid retractions in the last 12 months against your profile it's hardly suprising a seller is angry.Bid retractions can ruin auctions wasting sellers time and money.

Invalid bid retractions can be reported to ebay by sellers.

Valid reasons accepted for retraction are as follows:

  • You accidentally enter a wrong bid amount (for example, you bid £99.50 instead of £9.95). If this occurs, re-enter the correct bid amount immediately.
  • The description of an item you have bid on has changed significantly.
  • You cannot reach the seller. This means that you have tried calling the seller and the seller's phone number doesn't work, or you have tried emailing the seller and it comes back undeliverable.

There are very few genuine reasons to retract a bid, was yours one of them?
