Invalid bid retraction

I have an item for sale.

23.07.21 Bidder asks what reserve is.

24.07.21 I say I am not required to answer that but the bids are getting close to it.

24.07.21 Bidder makes a higher bid at 0745

24.07.21 at 10.27 Bidder sends message "Hi No worries I just wanted to know to see if it was worth me bidding on the bike. I think the reserve is a little too high for me as I'm the winning bidder at the moment and the reserve is still there. Never mind.

25.07.21  at 0726 retracts bid as "entered wrong amount" even though this bidder was not the highest bid and was not winning.

My listing is now £250 lower as a result and surely is in breach of the rules

There are no rules against telling a bidder what the reserve is

Actually reserves as a waste of money as you pay even if the item does not sell

It is best to start at the price you are willing to accept

See the ebay policy on invalid bid retraction and report

They show on the bidders account

You could have a look and see if they do it on a regular basis
