bid sniping doesn't mean you always win the item
the highest bid wins, no matter when it is placed
some people use outside sniping sites that place the bid close to the end of the listing time in the hope no one has time to outbid, but if someone else has already placed a higher bid, you won't win
the best way to bid on ebay is to decide the maximum you want to pay, the absolute maximum, not the 'I might bid higher' max
then place that bid (plus a few pennies so it isn't an exact amount) as near to the end of the listing as you feel comfortable,
ebays auto bid system will then bid for you til you either win the item or are outbid
