Hello

I wondered if anyone can help. I have had an item delivered to me but it is a complete fake when in the advert it was stated genuine. I have tried to contact the seller but no response. I started a return but then cancelled it as I dont see why i should pay to send it back when it was falsely sold, and also if i send it back i very much doubt they will refund me. But now seeing as I had a return opened ( even though it is closed now) I can't do anything about it through the resolution centre. Anyone have any odeas please?

Once you open and close a case you can't open another one, so you have thrown away your rights under eBays money back guarante.

Provided you paid by PayPal, you file a dispute under PayPal's buyer protection policy, see: https://www.paypal.com/uk/smarthelp/article/what-if-i-didn%27t-receive-my-item-or-it%27s-not-as-adve...

You opened the wrong case.  You opened a straight return for reasons say change of mind / does not fit,  and here the buyer does pay for the return,  as you can appreciate,  it is not the seller's fault.

If you received a non genuine item,  then it was a case for item not as described,  that needed to be opened.  There,  if the seller wanted their item back first,  the case would have enforced them to pay for that fully tracked return postage.

Unfortunately,  closing a case disables another being opened for the same item.

You can open one with Paypal,  look at their ' Free Returns on Us'  policy,  google that,  otherwise there you also pay for that fully tracked return postage.
