Help feeling threatened

I am having great difficulty with a seller. I am now feeling threatened by their messages. I have spoken to someone who says I have to wait 3 days before they will step in. Feeling very anxious as it's been a stressful time. What can I do please?

If the seller will not now allow you to collect then - indeed - you do have to wait for a refund.

Paypal is not safe for selelrs for collection items.  A [dishonest] buyer "could" simply deny that he collected the item [or - for example - thatit was not him] and unless the seller can prove delivery [by tracking, which he cannot] then eBay will refund the buyer.

You cannot open a case until 7 days have passed for a collection item I believe [some other member may confirm] - when the time is past open a "non receipt"] case and escalate after 3 full business days for a refund through the case.  One particular problem of currently paying by Paypal is the new "managed payments system".  The money will not reach the seller's bank until possibly Friday or Monday and unlike delivery where he would despatch when eBay says the money is clear it would be risky perhaps to allow collection till the money is in his bank.

eBay to step in?

What case have you opened as you only purchased the item two hours ago and paid by PayPal [which is your right] when the listing asked for cash on collection.

You say in the neg you left that they wanted cash and would not accept PayPal and they won't give you your money back after you paid by PayPal.

It is not safe for the seller to take a Paypal payment for a Collection in person item, and the seler has indicated that they wish to be paid in cash.

Paying via Paypal has put them in an impossible situation now, as they will be reluctant to allow you to collect.

Best to ask if they would cancel and refund. They could relist and you could buy again but this time pay cash after you have inspected the table.
