Hi had an e mail to say help us protect your account. I didn't open it but when I was in e bay searching it came up so I went ahead and it send me a PIN number which I entered. Now think this may be a scam.

Indeed it may though we have no way of knowing.  Change all your passwords on eBay and on Paypal.

If it was in your eBay messages it should be OK but if in your eMail that is worrying

You can also forward the eMail to spoof@ebay.com

Emails from ebay will also always be in messages as well.

Looks like the sort of thing that ebay would send if an account had been inactive for some time, although that does not apply to you from your feedback you have been active.
