Embargoed goods

Hi all,

I curently sell used & mint postage stamps on Ebay. I DO NOT ship items outside of U.K. It appears to me that postage stamps are international items which generally speaking cross most international borders. I think it is about time Ebay were more flexible with their embargoed goods policy concerning certain such circumstances.

EBay doesn't decide which goods from other countries are embargoed. This is determned by government regulations. You would have to put this suggestion to the FCO.

I think you would be wasting your time. Embargoes are not the same as prohibiting specific items, like weapons. Embargoes are imposed to block trade and the movement of funds to and from certain countries, except sometimes for humanitrian purposes.

Thanks for your reply. I'm well aware of the ins & outs of embargoes etc. My point is that ebay should be negotiating with whoever blocks certain goods, not throwing the problem back to potential sellers/buyers. Its ridiculous when items with just the name of country on it is banned from being sold within the borders of U.K.

Ebay do not decide if an item is embargoed or not.......but they do have to adhere to the Law
