Ebay liability / insurance

Hi all,

Hope this finds you well.

I am very concerned by a risk on the platform. What if I as a seller sent an art print to a buyer. The buyer then claimed the item was not as described and sent back a fake item to me. I then argue that the item is not the same as the one I initially sent out. Who will they side with? The buyer or the seller?

I really need this peace of mind to continue selling through the platform.

Many thanks,
Nick

eBay would side with the buyer.

It then would be up to you to challenge this with eBay and, or elsewhere and on the basis the buyer was committing fraud.

however, a buyer could also argue that you are a business seller trading as a private seller to taint your reputation and case.
